Rust and other corrosion products. Embedded or adhering "free iron Very light rust stain can be removed by 10% nitric acid. More significant rust or embedded iron will require picking. Routine cleaning of boat fittings. Frequent washing down with fresh water. Recommended after each time the boat is used in salt water.

Metal Brightener is a blend of  Ethoxylated Fatty alcohol with an acid mixture including phosphoric acid, Citric, Oxalic, and linear derivative  and non-ionic surfactants. It is used for the cleaning and brightening of ferrous and nonferrous surfaces.

NOTE :-
For steel surfaces; remove oil, grease and old paint. Wet down entire surface with neat Metal Bright- Rx and allow to dry. Second wash may be necessary. Surface should have a grey/white appearance when the Metal Bright- Rx is dry. Steel surfaces will have a resistance to rust and will render a good base for paint.For removal of rust stains on painted surfaces and wood, Metal Bright Rx should be applied at full concentration  forheavy stains, or diluted to 20-50% for light stains. Allow to soak for 15 to 30 minutes and wash off with water. A second application may be necessary to remove the stubborn stains.

Metals Rust Clean Brighte is one of popular maintenance and cleaning chemicals in marine, shipping lines and oil field industries. You shouldn't use Acid like, vinegar, or HCl on rust to clean it because, although it initially dissolves the rust, it leaves the steel very active and prone to immediate re-rusting ("flash rusting"). What you want is Rust remover like Metals Rust Clean Bright and Rust Converter, which is phosphoric acid based detergent which has the capability of converting the dusty, flaky red rust to stable "black rust". In general Alkalis like lye also peoples are using which is good at dissolving oil and grease, but don't convert rust so metal starts immediate re-rusting.

We have done lots of experiment to get "pH and rust" experiment graph,  As we knows the pH indicates whether there is an excess of H+ or OH- in the solution.  And step wise we can undersatnd as follows  :
1) pH 7.0 indicating balance of H+ or OH- . 
2) pH less than 7.0 there is an excess of H+, the lower the pH, the more H+. 
3)  pH over 7.0 there is an excess of OH-, the higher the pH, the higher the OH- concentration.
 
Usually, low pH solutions, with their excess of H+, will react with iron and dissolve it, whereas high pH solutions, with their excess of OH, do not react with iron. This is general chemistry behind rust cleaning chemicals.

Metal Rust Clean Bright at the low pH end effectively dissolves rust faster even more readily than the diluted one. In marine shipping industry, Metals Clean Bright is used as a rust remover. And For severely corroded and rusted surfaces and pickling of welding repairs, use 50% solution to neat. while For removal of rust stains on ceramic tiles, enamels, porcelain, glass etc., use a solution of 20–50%, depending on stains and soiling. Rinse off with water after 20–40 minutes.

In general terms and thumb rule for Metals Rust Clean Bright is MORE RUST required more Metals Rust Clean Bright. Chemically Rust { iron oxide (FeO) } is soluble in pH values below 4.0, . Thus, the oxide (oxygen) dissolves as it is formed instead of depositing on the metal's surface. So it is clear more rust required more Metals Rust Clean Bright to get dissolve. In practical if the area is fully rusted corroded then direct Metal Rust Bright MRB can be used to dissolve rust particles, while in light contaminated part Metal Rust Bright MRB can be diluted in between 20 to 70% .
 
2nd factor is the time which is directly affecting the cleaning result. If base metal is aluminium then use Metals Rust Clean Bright concentration 10 to 30% for not more then 5 Minutes. For removal of rust stains on painted or iron surfaces, use 10–30%  of Metal Rust Bright MRB soultion for 15–20 minutes. And for heavily rusted and corroded or soiled surfaces and tarnish on copper and brass, use a solution of 20–50%, for 15–40 minutes.
 
The 3rd important point always be noted, After cleaning of rust from Metals Rust Clean Bright all area should be fully rinsed and clean properly with fresh water. And for best long time result to keep rust free surface, Surface can be chemically neutralized with RXSOL-41-8896-025 ( dilution ration 1 Ltr RXSOL-41-8896-025 with 10 Ltr water ). The scientific reason behind that is  As With the Rust oxide gone with Metals Rust Clean Bright, the metal surface is in direct contact with the acidic solution, and the corrosion reaction proceeds at a greater rate than it does at higher pH values. Direct Injection Method for Tank cleaning through SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER :
Dose value of SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER can varies depends up on contamination and deposition of oil on the surface area. For tank cleaning " direct Injection Method " also one of the popular method. In this method, neat SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER can be injected  directly from the drum through air-operated drum (barrel) pump. During this method this barrel pump can be connected to the pressure side of the automatic tank cleaning system line. Barrel Pump can be fixed at a predetermined rate as an injection rate of 0.1 0.2 liter SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER per 100 litres of tank wash water is sufficient. Cleaning time 2-6 hours. Finally wash and rinse the tank with water. 

 
Spraying Method : If specific area of tank is heavily contaminated Use neat SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER overall soiled areas. Allow 10-20 minutes for reaction, then rinse with high pressure water hose., Scrubbing will assist the cleaning operation for stubborn deposits.

Direct Hand Spraying Method some time becomes necessary for cleaning of the heavily contaminated tank. On the other hand, we can also say that expert always selecting hand spray method before going to any other tank cleaning method to make there job easy. Expert shortlisting all tuff and heavily contaminated area and directly spraying neat SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER all over soiled areas. Then they are following another method like direct injection method, Recirculation method, Rock and roll method etc...

Recirculation Method for ship tank cleaning - 
1) First of all  heat the remaining oil in tanks .
2) By stripping constantly. flush the tank with sea water, 
3) Close  all suction and discharge valves .
4) Then make solution SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER with water with percentage ratio of 2-6% SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER( 2 Ltr to 6 Ltrs in 100 Ltr Water ) concentration value can be increase as per cleaning demand and contamination and condition of tank. Circulate cleaning solution via the automatic tank washing system pump and heater to the tank to be cleaned, wherefrom the solution is returned to the chemical solution tank via the stripping line. The same solution can be repeated for 2 - 3 tanks, then new cleaning solution required if same solution repeated for more then 2-3 tanks. Finally after recirculation the tanks should be rinsed thoroughly with sea water or fresh water depending on availability and requirements.

Rock and Roll Method at sea cleaning for double bottom tank:

Recommended time to clean and gas-free under normal circumstances would be 3-6 days ,for cleaning of double bottom tanks at sea.
1) First of all  heat the remaining oil in tanks .
2) By stripping constantly. flush the tank with sea water, 
3) Close  all suction and discharge valves .
4)1st Dose  Fill the tanks by ½ to 1 litre "SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY" HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER per tone of     water   through pipe or manhole , for 75-80% of capacity of tank to be cleaned.
5) Then fill tank to 25% capacity with sea water, raise the temperature up to 60°C maximum, and maintain this temperature for 24 hours.
6) Top up tank to 75-80% capacity with sea water, continue to heat for 48 to 72 hours.
7) Discharge and strip tank. Fill to 50-60% capacity with sea water and allow 2 hours rinsing time.
8) Discharge tank and strip, flushing tank with sea water for 2 hours,stripping continuously. When completed, inspect tank to ascertain if second cleaning is required. If so:
9) For completion add second dose of SOLVENT TANKCLEAN EMULSIFY HEAVY DUTY TANK CLEANER, fill tank with sea water 75-80% capacity and raise the temperature to 60°C maximum. Maintain this for 48 to 72 hours. And recirculate the solution .
10) Discharge and strip tank, flush with sea water, stripping continuously for 2 hours.
11) To gas-free, fill tank with sea water to overflow through vents and sounding pipes, discharge and strip completely.

Use Handgloves, Goggles and safety mask before using in Tank. Keep container tightly closed and away from direct heat, fire and sunlight.
